It is a legal requirement under the UK Building Regulations (Part G) that anyone who installs or replaces an unvented hot water cylinder (with a capacity of above 15 litres) shall notify that work with the Local Authority Building Control (LABC). The work may be notified either:
It is a legal requirement under the UK Building Regulations (Part G) that anyone who installs or replaces an unvented hot water cylinder (with a capacity of above 15 litres) shall notify that work with the Local Authority Building Control (LABC). The work may be notified either:
- via a Competent Persons Scheme (CPS) – installers may join a CPS such as Gas Safe Register*, OFTEC and HETAS, who will provide a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate.
- directly to the LABC – if the installer is not part of a CPS, the homeowner must notify the LABC prior to the work commencing or when the work begins.
